What are the benefits of using online registration?

- Online registration provides the Council with accurate spelling and contact information
- Online registration helps Girl Scouts reduce paper use and mailing costs, and be more environmentally friendly
What is eBiz?
eBiz is the web-enabled GSUSA management software for council use.
What is the difference between a “customer” and a “member”?
Members are individuals who have purchased a Girl Scout membership. Customers are any persons who are associated with the Council; these are typically parents, guardians, or siblings who are not Girl Scout members. All members are customers, but not all customers are members. Our registration system has accounts for ALL customers therefore you need not be a registered Girl Scout to provide us with accurate contact information.
Is there a Spanish version of the Online Registration site available?
What are the benefits for troop leaders when registration is done online by the parent/guardian?
- No more collecting forms or money from parents
- No more driving the forms to the Service Unit registrar's house
- No more completing dues summary sheets
- Troop leaders will have access to troop information, be able to email parents, print rosters, update troop member contact information, and update meeting information online
Why does the Parent or Guardian need to register for their girl online, instead of the girl doing it herself?
Parents/Guardians must provide their legal consent for their girl to be a Girl Scout. On paper forms that consent is provided in the form of the parent/guardian signature. One of the major benefits of using online registration is the ability to move away from using so much paper (Girl Scouts Go Green!). For online registration, the parent/guardian providing payment information in the form of a debit or credit card serves as their consent for their girl to participate in Girl Scouts.
Who will have access to my girl’s information online?
- Parents/guardians of the girl
- Troop Leader of their girl’s troop (troop leaders can only see information for girls in their troop, not other troops)
- Council staff
Who will have access to my (parent/guardian/volunteer) information online?
- Troop Leader of your troop, if applicable
- Council staff
NOTE: Only contact, demographic, and employer information is available to council staff. Credit/debit card information is transmitted securely to the payment processor and is not stored anywhere.
Why does the Council need my email address?
Troop leaders will be able to communicate with their troop members via email through their access to troop management. Service Units and the Council will be able to send information about events and news via email. In an effort to reduce paper use and costs, the Council is looking for more environmentally friendly ways to communicate with members. Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore is committed to respecting the privacy of its members. We do not sell or trade membership lists, contact information, or any other personal data about our members for any reason.
When will I receive a membership card?
Members will be able to print a membership card when they complete their online registration. Girl Scouts USA no longer prints and mails membership cards due to cost.
What types of transactions must be done by the Council for membership registration?
- Name change
- Troop transfer/placement
- Position code assignment
- New Troop number assignment
- Grade change (if occurring outside of membership renewal period)
- School Change (if occurring outside of membership renewal period)
- Employer Change (if occurring outside of membership renewal period)

What security measures are in place for online transactions?
The safety and security of your online experience is of the utmost concern to us. We ensure the appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures are in place to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect online.
Protecting the safety of your credit card information is also important to us. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your credit card information as it is transmitted to us. SSL is the industry standard in Internet encryption technology, which is a highly sophisticated method of scrambling data as it travels from your computer to our Web site servers. We also encrypt your credit card number when we store your order and whenever we transfer that information to participating merchants.
To make sure you are accessing our secure server before you submit personal financial information, look at the lower left-hand corner of your browser. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser) then SSL is active. To double-check for security, look at the URL or Address line of your browser. If you have accessed a secure server, the first characters of the address in that line should change from “http” to “https.”
It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
